Public Notice 04/2025 – FAKE FACEBOOK ACCOUNT OF CBSI GOVERNOR

The Central Bank of Solomon Islands (CBSI) wishes to inform the general public that a fake Facebook account impersonating the current Governor of CBSI, Dr. Luke Forau, has been created and is circulating online.

 We strongly advise the public to exercise caution and refrain from engaging with, responding to, or adding this fake account. Please be aware that Dr. Luke Forau does not maintain such a personalized, or any official Facebook account that has his profile pictures or images.

 CBSI takes this matter seriously and is working to report and remove the fraudulent account through the appropriate channels.

 The public is reminded to verify all communications related to CBSI through the bank’s official website (www.cbsi.com.sb ), over all official CBSI social media pages, via office email (info@cbsi.com.sb ) or through the CBSI main office telephone line on 21791, on any suspicious online activities or accounts, claiming to represent CBSI or its officials. These types of information should immediately be reported to the Bank or the local authorities near you.

 CBSI appreciates the cooperation of the public in helping to stop the spread of misinformation and online fraud.
