CBSI to Issue a New Commemorative $50 banknote

The Central Bank of Solomon Islands will be issuing a new Commemorative $50 banknote printed on Safeguard polymer by De La Rue.  The new $50 note has been produced to commemorate the CBSI 50th Golden Jubilee that will be held at the Central Bank of Solomon Islands from 15th to 18th June 2026.

The note, which will be of limited edition of one million commemorative $50 note, will be officially launched on 18th June and will be widely circulated for use throughout the Solomon Islands as a $50 note.  The $50 commemorative banknote will also co-circulate along with the existing $50 banknotes.

We hope our fellow Solomon Islanders will share in the opportunity to showcase our dedicated journey and the wonderful achievement we have had for the past 50 years for our country with the many challenges we have endured and succeeded from our shores.  This banknote is a demonstration of our on-going commitment and support to the Solomon Islands Government, the private sector and its people to welcome what future can bring in terms of modernising our currency developments in Solomon Islands and ensure they return with lasting memories.

The CBSI would also like to thank our printer, De La Rue for their job well-done to have the new note printed on time for the 50th anniversary.

Further information and updates will be shared and published to various radio stations and medias and as well as on CBSI website: https://www.cbsi.com.sb
